Philly Cypher (formerly called Writer Blocks) is a newsprint magazine dedicated to the OPEN-MIC culture in Philadelphia. It was founded by artist / music producer Traycee Lynn. The first issue launched in spring 2009 kicking off with an exclusive interview with Bad Boy recording artist, Janelle Monae. Philly Cypher also produces mixtapes and sponsors special performance events throughout the city.

OTHER BACKGROUND INFO – Philly Cypher is a spin-off of Writer Blocks (another publication launched by Traycee Lynn from 2002 to 2007 and included exclusive interviews with Geffen recording artist Common, Kevin Liles (former VP of Warner Brothers), poet / activist Sonia Sanchez, film maker / author Walter Mosley, The Last Poets, Jaguar Wright, Floetry, Jill Scott and countless local independent artists in Philadelphia.
Philly Cypher picks up where Writer Blocks left off only this time bringing more edge and placing a unique stamp in print media for arts and entertainment.
