2012 Buzz — The Nest: a Monthly Poetry Workshop Series

The NEST is the start of a new monthly poetry workshop series (brought to you by “The Pigeon”). The Nest will be a place where you can write, bring new work to workshop, learn performance techniques, work on memorizing and more generally grow as a performer and writer.

The NEST will be held on FRIDAY JANUARY 6, 2012 at the MEDIA BUREAU located at 338 Brown St, Philadelphia, PA 19123-2202

Fourth Fridays Artistic Expressions

Every 4th Friday at the New Africa Center an open-mic is held and is FREE and open to the public. The New Africa Center is located at 4243 Lancaster Avenue from 8PM to midnight.

Panoramic Poetry (Fridays and Sundays)

Panoramic Poetry has two events: On Fridays (Every 2nd and 3rd Friday) there is an open-mic in Germantown at its new located at ‎6353 Greene Street, Philadelphia, PA 19144,

On Sundays (1st and last Sundays), Panoramic UPTOWN Poetry is held at 7165 Germantown Avenue — (formerly called the North by Northwest)

(open-mic) Aziza’s 1st Friday, held at The Nile Restaurant

Aziza’s 1st friday has a new location – The Nile Restaurant on Germantown Avenue (Near High Street, across from Germantown High School). This is an open-mic that has been around for over 7 years. It was formerly held in Center City. Begins at 8pm to 10:30pm. Cover $5. Hosted by Aziza (pictured on the far left).
